WORD OF MOUTH: Featured / Open Poetry Readings - AUG 30
| 7 PM - 9 PM
FREE

Word of Mouth Cincinnati (WoMC), a literary event consisting of both an Open Mic and a Feature Performance, runs the last Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. upstairs at MOTR Pub.

Word of Mouth Cincinnati, which began in January 2014, is co-hosted by fellow writers Jim Palmarini and Mark Flanigan. It was founded in memory of the late Aralee Strange who, after many years living, writing and producing work in the Cincinnati area, moved to Athens, Georgia where she co-founded Athens Word of Mouth.

WoMC is an intentional arc of both past and future utterance, inspired by our most revered voice, with a nod to her Athens, GA compatriots. Word of Mouth asks poets to Show Up, Mouth Off and Pay Attention.

Our Feature Performer on August 30, 2016 is Sean M. Foster (Cincinnati, OH).

Sean M. Foster is a creative director for Franciscan Media, the publishing arm of the Franciscan Friars in Cincinnati, Ohio. A graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design, Sean has never stopped showing his art, or working with other artists, since leaving school. His passion for design is rooted in its necessity for collaboration, as well as its roots in language. Though trained as a designer and artist, these past few years he has begun pursuing his passion for writing more actively.

Sean is a regular, passionate attendee of Word of Mouth Cincinnati, and has been a featured reader at both Chase Public and Writeleg. Formerly part of nipnip, a visual/literary collaboration series at the Rake’s End, he is currently working on producing a chapbook for his father, as well as one of his own which he hopes to publish next year. Sean is writing a poem a day in 2016, and much of this work stems from his travels and his lack of permanent roots, while also calling attention to various cultural mores and often flipping the tables on a pop culture perspective.
