Forged from the fires of the Fort Ancient Records hip-hop blast furnace in Cincinnati, FAX consists of three of the label's pillars, Phonophage, Blasé, and Charlie Boneparte. This trio forms a sound that is left-of-center from traditional hip-hop, soul, or funk and lands comfortably between these genres as a bright but mellow experience.
The refined and wildly versatile instrumental skill-set that Phonophage demonstrates on stage, is complimented perfectly by the smooth and gilded-edge voice of Blasé, and the ultra-melodic songwriting of Charlie Boneparte. The tracks originate from a variety of Fort Ancient Records projects such as Travel by Dren AD (2017), Bakewell by Phonophage (2018) and Noir by Blasé (2018).
