A summer day may not bring to mind emotional complexity, but Cincinnati rock band Sun Delay’s songs are proof that a sun-soaked exterior can hide a greater depth of feeling.
Sun Delay is a quartet which draws inspiration from the lineage of angular, rocking pop music which contains Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Strokes at one end and modern embodiments in Local Natives and Cage the Elephant at the other. The four young men – Andrew Kubiak (vocals/lead guitar), Lamont Nelms (rhythm guitar), Sam Krimmer (bass/vocals), and Cole DeRose (drums) – first crossed paths at Princeton High School and have begun forging their path in the music world through a blitz of 2018 shows in the Cincinnati area.
