CJ BOYD
C.J. Boyd is a bassist without a fixed home. Born in California, and having resided in cities around the US and Europe, he and his music are always moving. Though solo recording and performance take up the bulk of his time and effort, he also plays in the improvised chamber orchestra Kurva Choir, as well as the recording project, Move. Former bands include Rhonya (Brussels), Desert Center (Los Angeles), Cairo (Rochester, NY), Kirtan Choir, The C.J. Boyd Sextet (Nashville), Paleo (Iowa City), Shy Hunters (Brooklyn), and Like No Tomorrow (Tacoma,WA). Since March of 2008, C.J. has been on a perpetual tour throughout North America and Europe. While on his native soil he travels by way of Del Griffith, a mighty Sprinter Van that has been converted to run on vegetable oil. What may seem to some as homelessness might also be called the subtle art of being always at home, regardless of location.
