Join author Steven Rosen for a discussion about his new book which examines the historically heady days of the Queen City’s music scene. Cincinnati in the 1950s and 1960s offered a stunning array of live music and entertainment venues. These long-gone clubs and places hosted a a who’s who of of pop, rock and jazz greats from The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, John Coltrane and James Brown to the Byrds, Alice Cooper, the Stooges, B.B. King and the Allman Brothers. From the mob-controlled Sportsman’s Club in Newport to Jim Tarbell’s iconic Ludlow Garage in Clifton, the book offers a tour of the area’s various music offerings.
