IN THE PINES

website  | facebook

With an intense cocktail of psychedelic guitar rock and R&B sensibility, In the Pines has been serving energetic grooves throughout Cincinnati and the greater midwest area since the band's inception in 2015. The band's unique style of dynamic rock is influenced by acts like Spoon, Dr. Dog, and Tame Impala, but continues to evolve and incorporate other genres. The inclusion of saxophone on songs like "Driftin" is an indication of the band's concurrent love for jazz, fusion, and contemporary hip hop.

CURIO KEY CLUB

website

CURIO KEY CLUB is tight horn lines, fuzzed out bass, cinematic expression, swirling synths, improvisation, freak outs, odd metered grooves, story telling, ripping guitar, moments of funk and experiments of sound.
A little bit boss, a little Clarance Clemons, the band has loose tendencies, technical proficiency and a rock and roll swagger. At home crafting experimental rock, pop, funk, instrumental jams, Curio Key Club reflects a myriad of influences.
Frontman, saxophonist and singer Drew Miller spent much of 2015 playing, touring and recording with Bonnie Prince Billy and most of 2016-2017, touring with Houndmouth, making appearances at Lollapalooza, Shaky Knees, Telluride and venues all across the United States along with key club tenor saxophonist Graeme Gardiner.
A curio is an object of great interest and often, mystique. It is something foreign, maybe not yet understood, but not outside the realm of understanding. The symbol of a key speaks of knowledge, access, freedom, and liberation. A club, in its most basic form, is a group of like minded beings. Friends making music, music making friends.
ZEN AMERICA was produced, recorded and mixed by Houndmouth bandmate, Shane Cody.
