"Layered Realities" Art Opening

We invite you to explore "Layered Realities.” This exhibition by Sara Similar delves into the complexities of perception, time, and memory through a blend of media. The works on display—including lens-based art, digital collage, and manipulated stills—examine the layers that shape our understanding of reality, inviting viewers to reflect on how images and stories are continuously reconstructed and reimagined.
The theme extends beyond the 2D realm on opening night.
In collaboration with Sara Similar, artist & VJ Kosmik Ray will remix her work, transforming still and moving images into dynamic projections that shift and evolve in sync with a performance by live-looping musician, Umin.
Together, these elements create an environment that invites you to reflect on how we perceive and reinterpret the world around us—layer by layer, image by image, note by note.
Prints in a variety of styles will be on display and available for sale throughout the month of February.
Sara Similar is an artist, designer, and musician from Northern Kentucky. She holds a BFA in Visual Communications Design from Northern Kentucky University, as well as degrees in Audio/Video Production and Fine Arts from Cincinnati State. Fueled by a passion for people and the stories that connect us, she explores the ways in which media intersect and influence one another.

Umin, a live-looping musician originating from Kentucky, loops his own instrumentation, manipulating sound to create a cerebral musical landscape.
